We had a good turnout of cruisers for the Waddington cruise weekend; eleven boats plus one more cruiser from Ile Perrot YC (Ralph Austin’s buddy Juro). although it was quite warm during the daytime it cooled by the evening for a comfortable night.
Some boats left on the ENE wind Friday:
- Ralph & Lorraine on “Noname yet”
- Dave Smith on Oblio
- Chris and Leslie on Plight the new trimaran
- Joyce & Joe on Ala-Moana
- Brian & Joy on Outback (Anchored at Croil E Bay)
Others left Saturday as planned:
- Bob & Sylvie on Sylphide
- Mike & Cindy on Cindy Lou
- Jim Mcquinn & Bob Branchard on Walkabout
- Brian and Heather on Ricochet
- Charles and Catherine on Karisma
- Michael and Line on Centurion
Mike led the group to a swim near East Woodlands.
Plight and Centurion did the most distance, sailing. Plight was able to tack downwind all the way except for a brief wind hole at Cat Island Shoal and Centurion flew the spinnaker for several hours in the heat Saturday. Way to go guys!
On arrival Saturday, Mayor Janet Otto-Cassada was at the docks making sure our flotilla had the space we needed. What a wonderful person.
