This Saturday we held our 2019 Sail Past to officially kick-off our season. I have many thanks so I hope I won’t forget anything, but here goes.
Thanks to the weather for not being extreme in any one way. We managed some sun, light winds ( very light) and this avoided any mishaps and we managed to coxs people out of their slips to participate. I believe we had 19 boats out.
Thanks to Ester Bryan and her amazing decoration of Knots. Every year she finds something new. Thanks to all her helpers.
Thanks to everyone who brought out some snacks and special call out to new member Nora who after working a late shift, came home a made our delicious SYC cake. A few members commented on my “small” slice of cake.
Thanks to our special guests MP Guy Lauzon and MPP Jim McDonell for attending a saying a few kind words.
Thanks to Paul Rodrigue – Fleet Captain – for the instructions and leading the fleet.
Thanks to Charlie Runnalls for printing up the year books which are now available at the club.
Thanks to Margaret – Secretary – for preparing all the membership cards – also available at the club with year books.
Thanks To Gary Bryan for leading us through grace and his Knotty jokes (you had to be there to get this).
Thanks to Ann Marie for taking some pictures during the day so we will have some memories come season ending dinner event.
Special thanks to Harry Barlow who has contributed so much of his time over the many years and was this year recipient of the SYC Seagull award.
Respectfully,
Brian Branchard
SYC Commodore
